David’s death has shocked and shaken up a lot of people. Between 800-1,000 people showed up for the visitation on Tuesday night. Calls and comments and flowers and people poured in from several states. People from all walks of life came to pay their respects.
David Martin was a loving, caring, friendly, gracious, godly, helping, serving, and dependable man. He loved the Lord Jesus, his family, and his church family. He helped anyone who needed help. He gave, he encouraged, and he sacrificed (all the while having his own deep hurts and obstacles in this life). David never met anyone without sharing what Jesus had done in his own life – forgiving his sin, delivering him from sin, and saving his soul. David was very bold and not ashamed to talk to others about Jesus. David Martin reached his rewards Sunday morning.
Other than my wife and little girls, David Martin was my biggest cheerleader and encourager in my ministry and my personal life. He was gracious to me and my family. I could count on him on a weekly basis to help me with some project, whether personal or church-related. He was always there to help. Always! David was a confidant, a prayer partner, and a shining light for me and our community. I miss him deeply – as I missed my own daddy and brother when they passed. I love you, David Martin.
